Components

Components are replaced with text during the build of a file name. Here is the detail of what components are available:

  • ComposerFirstName – The first name of the composer – populated from the Composer First Name field
  • ComposerLastName – The last name of the composer – populated from the Composer Last Name field
  • ArrangerFirstName – The first name of the arranger – populated from the Arranger First Name field
  • ArrangerLastName – The last name of the arranger – populated from the Arranger Last Name field
  • OrchestratorFirstName – The first name of the orchestrator – populated from the Orchestrator First Name field
  • OrchestratorLastName – The last name of the orchestrator – populated from the Orchestrator Last Name field
  • Edition – The edition of the work – populated from the Edition field
  • Title – The title of the work – populated from the Title field
  • ArrLabel – The label that goes before the arranger e.g. Arr. – populated from Arranger Label field in Settings > File Naming
  • OrchLabel – The label that goes before the orchestrator e.g. Orch. – populated from Orchestrator Label field in Settings > File Naming
  • PlayerWithinOrchestraNumber – The number of the player in the orchestra – populated based on a sequential numbering of the generated file names in score order. The display order of Sections in Settings > Sections is taken into account when generating score order.
  • SectionWithinOrchestraNumber – The number of the section in the orchestra – populated from the SectionNumber field for each section in Settings > Sections
  • PlayerWithinSectionNumber – The number of the player within the section e.g. for a clarinet section with Clarinet 1, Clarinet 2 and Bass Clarinet, this value would be 1, 2 and 3 respectively
  • PartInstruments – The text representing the instruments played by the part e.g. for a clarinet part with 3/bcl, this value will be Clarinet 3 Doubling Bass Clarinet – calculated from the Daniels code for the part.
    • The names of the instruments replacing Daniels abbreviations can be set in Settings > Instruments
    • In the example above, the word ” Doubling ” can be configured using the DoublingText box in Settings > FileNaming
    • In the example above, there is a space between Clarinet and 3. This can be configured to be any string of characters using the Instrument/Number Separator box in Settings > FileNaming
  • PartAbbreviations – The abbreviations representing the instruments played by the part. e.g. for a clarinet part with 3/bcl, this value will be Cl 3 & BCl – calculated from the Daniels code for the part.
    • Where only a number is supplied, the abbreviation is taken from the Section’s default abbreviation. In the example above, 3 gets replaced with Cl 3 taking Cl as the default abbreviation for the Clarinet Section. You can see that in Settings > Sections.
    • Where an abbreviation is supplied, this is matched against the database to find the instrument to which it belongs. It will then be replaced with the default abbreviation for that instrument. In the example above, BCl does not get replaced as BCl is the default abbreviation for Bass Clarinet. You can see and edit instrument abbreviations in Settings > Instruments
    • In the example above, the word ” Doubling ” can be configured using the DoublingText box in Settings > FileNaming
    • In the example above, there is a space between Cl and 3. This can be configured to be any string of characters using the Instrument/Number Separator box in Settings > FileNaming
